Garden Love Seats

A garden love seat is two seats joined by a table, so you can sit side by side with a drink or a plate on the tray between you. They suit patios, small gardens and sunny corners where a full dining set would be too much.

Handmade chunky wooden love seats

Most of our love seats are handmade to order in the UK by Churnet Valley, from thick pressure-treated timber with a 20-year guarantee against rot. Choose an angled tray, which turns the two seats slightly towards each other for easy conversation, or a straight tray, which sits neatly against a wall or fence. Trio versions seat three, and our larger love seat sets add benches or chairs to seat four to seven people.

Garden furniture questions, answered

Start with how many people you want to seat most of the time, then add one or two for guests. Four seater sets suit couples and small families, six seaters suit family meals with friends, and eight seaters or more suit big families and entertaining. Check the full set size on each product and allow around 75–90cm behind each seat so chairs can be pulled out comfortably.

Yes. Our chunky wooden furniture is made from pressure-treated timber designed to stay outside all year round, and most Churnet Valley pieces carry a 20-year guarantee against rot. A coat of wood oil once a year keeps it looking its best.

Wood is sturdy, natural-looking and stays put in the wind, but needs oiling once a year. Rattan-effect weave is light and comfortable, usually with cushions, and is best covered in winter. Aluminium is slim, strong and won’t rot, and needs very little upkeep.

Yes. Furniture arrives flat-packed or part-assembled and needs some assembly when it arrives. We recommend two people, especially for larger sets.

Brush off leaves and dirt regularly and let it dry out after heavy rain. Once a year, apply a wood oil such as the Rhino garden furniture oils we sell to protect the timber and keep its colour.
