Our eight seater and larger garden furniture is made for big families, celebrations and anyone who likes having people round. You will find large dining sets, generous picnic tables and corner lounge sets with room for everyone.

Choosing a large garden set

  • Dining sets for eight or more use long rectangular or large square tables with a mix of chairs and benches.
  • Picnic tables seat a crowd in one sturdy piece, with the benches built in.
  • Corner lounge sets wrap seating around a table for relaxed evenings, and some include a fire pit table.
  • Space: large sets need plenty of room. Some of our eight seater dining sets cover an area of around 3 by 3 metres, so check the full set size on each product before you order.

Our chunky wooden large sets are handmade in the UK from thick, pressure-treated timber and built to stay outside all year round. All large sets arrive needing assembly, and we recommend two people. Every price includes free delivery to mainland UK.

Garden furniture questions, answered

Start with how many people you want to seat most of the time, then add one or two for guests. Four seater sets suit couples and small families, six seaters suit family meals with friends, and eight seaters or more suit big families and entertaining. Check the full set size on each product and allow around 75–90cm behind each seat so chairs can be pulled out comfortably.

Yes. Our chunky wooden furniture is made from pressure-treated timber designed to stay outside all year round, and most Churnet Valley pieces carry a 20-year guarantee against rot. A coat of wood oil once a year keeps it looking its best.

Wood is sturdy, natural-looking and stays put in the wind, but needs oiling once a year. Rattan-effect weave is light and comfortable, usually with cushions, and is best covered in winter. Aluminium is slim, strong and won’t rot, and needs very little upkeep.

Delivery is free to mainland UK. Each product page shows its own estimated delivery time. Handmade Churnet Valley furniture is made to order and usually takes around 7 working days.

Yes. Furniture arrives flat-packed or part-assembled and needs some assembly when it arrives. We recommend two people, especially for larger sets.

Brush off leaves and dirt regularly and let it dry out after heavy rain. Once a year, apply a wood oil such as the Rhino garden furniture oils we sell to protect the timber and keep its colour.
