BBQ questions, answered
Gas BBQs light at the turn of a knob and are easy to control, so they suit quick weeknight cooking. Charcoal gives a classic smoky flavour and a hotter sear. Wood-fired BBQs and ovens give the most flavour and a real fire, and take a little longer to get going.
Two or three burners suit couples and small families. Four burners cook for six to eight people, and five or six burners suit big gatherings. A side burner is handy for sauces and sides.
Usually not. You will need a gas bottle and the right regulator, which you can buy from a local gas supplier. Check each product for the gas type it uses.
Only under a shelter made for it. Our BBQ shelters have open or slatted wooden roofs so heat and smoke can escape. Never use a BBQ, pizza oven or fire pit under a polycarbonate or fabric roof.
A solid, level concrete or paved base that can take the weight. Masonry BBQs and pizza ovens are heavy, so plan the spot before you order.
Most BBQs, ovens and fire pits arrive needing assembly, and we recommend two people for larger models. If you have any questions before you order, call us on 0330 043 0361 (Mon–Fri 8am–5pm).
